The Airbus A320 aircraft family is just as popular as the Boeing 737 family and there are a number of huge operators throughout the world.  But the big domain of this aircraft is clearly Europe where several airlines operate big fleets.

Two Questions:

Can you name the largest European operator of this aircraft family and the largest operator of the A320 family in the world?

EasyJet operates the largest European fleet at 187 aircraft but both Air France and British Airways as well as Alitalia also operate substantial fleets as well at 89, 143 and 87 respectively. 

US Airways is the largest operator in the world of this family at 216 aircraft (by my sources.)   US Airways became the largest operator when it America West merged with / purchased US Airways as both airlines operated the aircraft although they were equipping them with different engine families (IAE V2500 and CFM56).
