Spot the Problem

Would anyone care to guess at the problem with this takeoff?  (Video found on Sulako’s Blog)

  1. You mean in addition to the complete lack of de-icing?

  2. Didn’t de-ice

  3. Where is the ice? All I could see was loose snow that blew off during take-off. Or am I missing something?

  4. You de-ice when there is *any* contamination of the wing with ice or snow. If it isn’t snowing and the temps are in a certain range, you remove the ice/snow with Type 1 fluid. If it is snowing, you also de-ice with Type 4 fluid which then permits any accumulation during taxi to “shear” off the wing. That wing wasn’t de-iced.
